Service times, directions, and what to expect upon your first visit to Epping Uniting Church.
You might be wondering, what’s it really like at Epping Uniting? Simply stated, we’re all on a journey. Our church is made up of some people who have been followers of Jesus for a short time and those who have been life-long followers. Want to know the best part? It’s a place which celebrates God’s love for all people – no matter what.
In total, an Epping Uniting service is about 60 minutes in length. There is about 15 minutes of pre-service music played on the organ to help you put aside the stresses of the week and focus on worship. Services include hymns lead by our organist - lyrics are projected onto the screen so you can sing along and/or engage with worship however you feel most comfortable. Our minister Rev. Greg Woolnough usually leads the rest of the service which consists of prayers, something for the children and an address about 15-minutes in length that encourages us on our faith journey. There is an opportunity to respond with an offering of money and we conclude by singing again. Following the service, morning tea is served in the hall. Wondering where to park? That’s pretty tight in Epping but on a Sunday, there is usually street-parking but it is a good idea to get there a little early.
Sundays at Epping Uniting are thought-provoking and welcoming. Come as you are and expect to feel included as our guest.
As a predominantly mature-aged congregation, we really value the few children that are currently part of our life together. Every Sunday, there is a time with the children that seeks to be interactive and engaging. One part of this is towards the beginning of the worship service, usually led by our minister and the other part is in a different space led by one of our Sunday School teachers.
